{"id":10473,"date":"2025-06-29T01:01:06","date_gmt":"2025-06-29T01:01:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/weeklyyoung.pk\/?p=10473"},"modified":"2025-06-29T01:01:06","modified_gmt":"2025-06-29T01:01:06","slug":"pakistan-a-net-region-stabiliser-following-indian-aggression-army-chief","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/weeklyyoung.pk\/?p=10473","title":{"rendered":"Pakistan a \u2018net region stabiliser\u2019 following Indian aggression: army chief"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir on Saturday stated that Pakistan proved itself as a \u201cnet region stabiliser\u201d after having repelled Indian military aggression twice and demonstrating its commitment to regional security.<\/p>\n<p>The remarks followed recent tensions between India and Pakistan over New Delhi\u2019s allegations against Islamabad, without evidence, about a deadly attack in occupied Kashmir\u2019s Pahalgam.<\/p>\n<p>Pakistan had strongly denied the allegations and called for a neutral probe. As the situation turned into a military confrontation between the nuclear powers, it took American intervention for both sides to agree to a ceasefire.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the Pakistan Naval Academy in Karachi, COAS Munir said that Pakistan will protect its sovereignty and national interests decisively and without hesitation, state media PTV reported.<\/p>\n<p>The report quoted the army chief as saying, \u201cIn recent years, India has twice undertaken acts of unprovoked aggression against Pakistan, which were met with our resolute response.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDespite grave provocations, Pakistan acted with restraint and maturity, and demonstrated its commitment to regional peace and stability, leading to its role as a net regional stabiliser,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>He further said that India was \u201cdeliberately creating tension in the region\u201d when Pakistan was close to eliminating terrorism, PTV said on X.<\/p>\n<p>COAS Munir also highlighted the Kashmir issue, saying, \u201cAt such a time, we must remember the sacrifices of our Kashmiri brothers who are struggling against India\u2019s illegal occupation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPakistan is a strong advocate for a just resolution of the Kashmir issue in accordance with United Nations resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>He called for a \u201cjust and peaceful resolution\u201d to the Kashmir issue for lasting peace in the region.<\/p>\n<p>Separately, Field Marshal Munir visited the Corps Headquarters in Peshawar, where he was briefed on the prevailing security situation and ongoing counter-terrorism operations, according to a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).<\/p>\n<p>The statement said, \u201cDuring the visit, the field marshal also attended the funeral of martyrs of the incident at Bannu Garrison and visited the injured at Bannu Combined Military Hospital.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCOAS (Munir) paid rich tribute to the unwavering courage and resilience of Pakistan\u2019s security forces, who continue to confront and neutralise the Indian-sponsored Fitna-al-Khawarij with exemplary valour.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The ISPR further said that the army chief vowed to bring \u201call facilitators, abettors, and perpetrators of terrorism\u201d to justice, assuring \u201cswift and decisive retribution\u201d against those who undermine the country\u2019s stability.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe field marshal also emphasised the critical need for institutional capacity enhancement of civilian law enforcement agencies, particularly the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe urged relevant government stakeholders to prioritise these efforts, while reaffirming the Army\u2019s continued support in building and augmenting the capabilities of law enforcement institutions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In July last year, the government designated the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) as Fitna-al-Khawarij, while mandating all institutions to use the term khariji (outcast) when referring to the perpetrators of terrorist attacks on Pakistan.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier today, at least 13 security personnel were martyred in a suicide bombing in KP\u2019s North Waziristan district, carried out by Indian proxy terrorists.<\/p>\n<p>The military has said India was using its \u201cassets\u201d to inte\u00adnsify terrorist attacks in Pakistan, with ISPR Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry detailing \u201cirr\u00ade\u00adfutable evidence\u201d of an Ind\u00adian military personnel\u2019s involvement.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir on Saturday stated that Pakistan proved itself as a \u201cnet region stabiliser\u201d after having repelled Indian military aggression twice and demonstrating its commitment to regional security.
