{"id":12502,"date":"2025-10-07T12:14:54","date_gmt":"2025-10-07T12:14:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/weeklyyoung.pk\/?p=12502"},"modified":"2025-10-07T12:14:54","modified_gmt":"2025-10-07T12:14:54","slug":"pti-activist-sanam-javed-allegedly-abducted-from-peshawar-fir","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/weeklyyoung.pk\/?p=12502","title":{"rendered":"PTI activist Sanam Javed allegedly \u2018abducted\u2019 from Peshawar: FIR"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Peshawar police on Tuesday filed a case over the alleged abduction of PTI activist Sanam Javed near the Civil Officers\u2019 mess in the provincial capital.<\/p>\n<p>The first information report (FIR), seen by Dawn.com, was filed by Javed\u2019s friend Hira Babar at Peshawar\u2019s Sharqi police station in the early hours of Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Babar claimed in the FIR that she and the PTI activist were heading back after having dinner together on Monday during the latter\u2019s visit to the city when the \u201cabduction\u201d took place.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAround 10:40pm, we were blocked by a green Vigo while we were heading back after having a dinner outside. We tried to turn back but a white car appeared from behind to intercept us,\u201d she told the police.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFive men got out and attempted to force Sanam into their car. At this point, we started shouting for help, but the people in the surroundings, which included officers and security personnel, did not intervene,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe car took her towards the Red Zone,\u201d Babar claimed.<\/p>\n<p>The FIR was filed under Section 365 (kidnapping or abducting with intent to secretly and wrongfully confine person) of the Pakistan Penal Code.<\/p>\n<p>Taking notice of the incident, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister\u2019s spokesperson said that \u201cCM Ali Amin Gandapur has ordered an investigation into the incident,\u201d vowing to arrest those responsible.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe culprits will be severely punished,\u201d he said, adding that the government was utilising all its resources to find the perpetrators.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the PTI, in a post on X, decried the alleged abduction as \u201cshameful and deeply disturbing\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The party maintained that \u201csuch actions are a blatant violation of basic human rights and dignity, and they highlight the urgent need for accountability and justice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Last night, PTI Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram had claimed on X that Javed was \u201cpulled out of her car and taken away in front of her friends\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Javed has previously been named in several cases, including over a dozen May 9 cases for which she was incarcerated for a year until the Islamabad High Court (IHC) ordered her release last year in July.<\/p>\n<p>More recently, the activist was again arrested earlier this year for holding a rally and blocking the road outside Aiwan-i-Adl, alongside other PTI members.
