{"id":12520,"date":"2025-10-07T12:18:31","date_gmt":"2025-10-07T12:18:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/weeklyyoung.pk\/?p=12520"},"modified":"2025-10-07T12:18:31","modified_gmt":"2025-10-07T12:18:31","slug":"dg-ispr-says-chinese-weapon-systems-performed-exceptionally-well-during-may-conflict-with-india","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/weeklyyoung.pk\/?p=12520","title":{"rendered":"DG ISPR says Chinese weapon systems performed \u2018exceptionally well\u2019 during May conflict with India"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has said that Chinese weapon systems deployed during Pakistan\u2019s four-day military conflict with India in May performed \u201cexceptionally well\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>During the conflict, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar reportedly said the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) used Chinese J-10C jets in its response to India\u2019s May 7 attack. A report by The Guardian had noted that Pakistan deploying J-10Cs would \u201cmark the first time the Chinese planes \u2014 and the PL-15 missiles they were carrying \u2014 have been used in combat anywhere in the world\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In May, China had expressed ignorance about the use of its jets, saying it was \u201cnot familiar with the matter\u201d. In July, however, the Chinese air chief commended the PAF\u2019s \u201cexemplary performance\u201d in the May conflict.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with Bloomberg, which was held last week and published yesterday, Lt Gen Chaudhry said: \u201cOf course lately, recent Chinese platforms, they\u2019ve demonstrated exceptionally well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are open to all sorts of technology,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Lt Gen Chaudhry was quoted as saying that Pakistan had recently raised its tally of Indian aircraft shot down to seven \u2014 up from a previous count of six.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, United States President Donald Trump also described how he confronted both nations during an active war that saw \u201cseven aircraft shot down\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The DG ISPR also refuted Indian claims of Pakistan losing any planes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPakistan has never tried to play with figures and facts,\u201d Lt Gen Chaudhry said. Pakistan said it downed six Indian jets in retaliation in May, including the French-made Rafale.<\/p>\n<p>India\u2019s highest-ranking general has acknowledged that its forces suffered losses in the air, but denied losing six aircraft.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe conflict marked the largest battlefield deployment of Chinese weaponry in recent history, with the J-10C as well as the PL-15 air-to-air missile seeing live documented fighting for the first time,\u201d Bloomberg stated.<\/p>\n<p>During the escalation, shares of Chinese defence-manufacturing companies rallied as tensions between India and Pakistan boosted the outlook for mainland exporters.<\/p>\n<p>After the Indian political and military leadership made aggressive statements last week, repeating its terrorism allegations \u2014 which Pakistan has repeatedly refuted \u2014 the Pakistani military warned on Saturday that any future conflict with India could lead to \u201ccataclysmic devastation\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>A day later, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said India faced a \u201cdecisive defeat with a score of 6-0\u201d in the May escalation, and \u201cif they try again [to go to fight], God willing, the score will be much better than the last time\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The May conflict was sparked by an attack on Hindu tourists in occupied Kashmir, which New Delhi, without evidence, linked with Pakistan. Islamabad strongly denied responsibility while calling for a neutral investigation.<\/p>\n<p>Pakistan had said it downed six Indian planes after the latter carried out deadly attacks in Punjab and Azad Kashmir.
