Further, several social media accounts on X have shared unverified claims of his death, with Indian media also reporting on the alleged rumours about his health. The trend \u2018Where is Imran Khan?\u2019 was also trending on X on Thursday morning.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement issued early on Thursday on X, the party said \u201crumours of a despicable nature\u201d were being spread from \u201cAfghan and Indian media, and foreign social media accounts\u201d regarding Imran\u2019s health.<\/p>\n<p>The party demanded that the \u201ccurrent government and the interior ministry immediately and clearly dismiss and clarify the rumour and immediately arrange a meeting between Imran and his family\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA formal and transparent statement should be issued on behalf of the state regarding the health, security and current status of Imran,\u201d the party demanded.<\/p>\n<p>It further called on the state to investigate those responsible for spreading rumours of a \u201csensitive nature\u201d and demanded that the \u201cfacts be presented before the nation\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The party, in its statement, warned that \u201cthe nation will not tolerate any uncertainty regarding the status of its leader (Imran)\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe government is directly responsible for protecting Imran\u2019s security, human rights and constitutional rights,\u201d the party said. The PTI also vowed to take \u201cevery legal and political step to counter these rumours and bring the truth to light\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, PTI leader Meher Bano Qureshi, who is also the daughter of former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, said on X that rumours regarding Imran\u2019s health were concerning.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe government is responsible for Khan sahib\u2019s safety and is duty-bound to issue a statement updating the nation. As far as putting an end to these rumours goes, the best, most credible way possible is to allow Khan sahib\u2019s sisters, lawyers and party members to meet with him,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Afghan origin\u2019 claim debunked<br \/>\nSeparately, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MOIB) debunked \u201cfalse claims by Afghan and Indian social media alleging that Imran had been killed in jail\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnonymous Afghan accounts circulated an unverified rumour that Imran was killed in custody and his body moved.
