{"id":13981,"date":"2025-12-08T23:37:54","date_gmt":"2025-12-08T23:37:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/weeklyyoung.pk\/?p=13981"},"modified":"2025-12-08T23:37:54","modified_gmt":"2025-12-08T23:37:54","slug":"pakistan-did-not-benefit-from-pti-project-aqeel-malik","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/weeklyyoung.pk\/?p=13981","title":{"rendered":"Pakistan did not benefit from PTI \u2018project\u2019: Aqeel Malik"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Minister of State for Law and Justice Barrister Aqeel Malik on Monday stated that Pakistan did not benefit from the PTI \u201cproject\u201d, arguing that it aimed to destroy the country.<\/p>\n<p>In a blistering press conference on Friday, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry assailed PTI founder and ex-premier Imran Khan for creating and spreading an \u201canti-army\u201d rhetoric, stating that such narratives were now out of the realm of politics and had become a \u201cnational security threat\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The PTI emphatically deplored the \u201cridiculous\u201d remarks by the military spokesperson, saying the party founder was \u201cnot a security threat\u201d and lamented the weakening of democracy in the country following the passage of recent constitutional amendments.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on Geo News programme \u2018Capital Talk\u2019, the minister highlighted that during its tenure, the PTI government \u201cran a campaign against the country, writing to the IMF and lobbying US politicians\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHas the PTI taken a single beneficial step for Pakistan?\u201d Malik asked, further questioning what development projects are underway in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where the party is running the provincial administration.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen it comes to sovereignty and national security, we (PML-N) have never compromised,\u201d he added. \u201cThere is a night and day difference between the policies of the PTI and the PML-N.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Malik pointed out that Imran himself claimed, when he was in power, that the army chief was akin to the \u201cfather of the nation\u201d and that nobody could speak out against him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLook at what Imran Khan is saying on Twitter,\u201d he added, referring to posts against Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can say that the youth have introspected and found that countries cannot progress on hollow words, hollow promises and pure popularity,\u201d Malik added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am not denying that there are questions around the 2024 general elections, but did Nawaz Sharif write any letters to the IMF? Was he involved in foreign lobbying?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Later, PTI Chief Whip in the National Assembly Amir Dogar joined the programme and was asked about allegations labeling Imran a \u201csecurity threat\u201d by senior political and military leadership.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWho is (Information Minister) Atta Tarar to say these things about us?\u201d Dogar replied. \u201cHe is a Form 47 politician who has only 16,000 votes, and now he\u2019s lecturing the party of the country\u2019s legitimate leader.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Minister of State for Law and Justice Barrister Aqeel Malik on Monday stated that Pakistan did not benefit from the PTI \u201cproject\u201d, arguing that it aimed to destroy the country.
