{"id":14051,"date":"2025-12-10T23:25:24","date_gmt":"2025-12-10T23:25:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/weeklyyoung.pk\/?p=14051"},"modified":"2025-12-10T23:25:24","modified_gmt":"2025-12-10T23:25:24","slug":"war-of-words-between-pti-and-ruling-coaltion-continues-pml-ns-ikhtiar-wali-says-things-have-reached-point-of-no-return","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/weeklyyoung.pk\/?p=14051","title":{"rendered":"War of words between PTI and ruling coaltion continues; PML-N\u2019s Ikhtiar Wali says \u2018things have reached point of no return\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The war of words between members of the PTI and ruling coalition continued on Wednesday, with Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Information for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Affairs Ikhtiar Wali Khan saying that \u201cthings have reached a point of no return\u201d, while PTI chairman Barrister Gohar Ali stressed that \u201ccommon sense should prevail\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The tensions have particularly intensified in recent days after the spokesperson for the armed forces held a hard-hitting press conference on December 6, in response to Imran\u2019s latest outburst against the military leadership.<\/p>\n<p>Politicians from various parties have rallied behind the armed forces since, chastising the PTI. Yesterday, the Punjab Assembly also adopted a resolution calling for a ban on Imran and his party, terming them \u201canti-state\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Things have reached a point of no return\u2019<br \/>\nEarlier today, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Information for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Affairs Ikhtiar Wali Khan said that \u201cthings have reached a point of no return\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing a press conference, Wali assailed the PTI for its recent actions, warning the party, \u201cWe have tolerated you with much grace and for the sake of democracy. However, things have now reached a point of no return, no mercy and no tolerance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll doors to talks are now closed,\u201d Wali said.<\/p>\n<p>He went on to say that anyone supporting the incarcerated PTI founder \u201cstood for the desecration of Pakistan\u2019s sovereignty, honour, and development\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe do not want to label anyone a traitor or ban a political party,\u201d he continued. However, he stressed that \u201cgiven the current state of affairs, I ask the people what [else] can be done\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Wali alleged that \u201cPTI, in its four years in power, had done nothing,\u201d challenging the party to \u201cshow at least one university, hospital or dam\u201d they built.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a blessing from God that the Centre, Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan have remained safe from the PTI\u2019s dirty politics,\u201d he remarked, warning that the government \u201cwill now set KP free as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Common sense should prevail\u2019<br \/>\nLater, leaders from opposition alliance Tehreek-i-Tahafuz Ayeen-i-Pakistan (TTAP), which also includes the PTI, addressed a press conference outside Parliament.<\/p>\n<p>Among them, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar reiterated his party\u2019s allegations that their \u201cmandate had been stolen\u201d in the last general elections.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe did not stage a sit-in back then [\u2026] We sat in Parliament, believing that our voices will be heard, and a solution to our and the people\u2019s difficulties will be found,\u201d he said, adding that there had been multiple confrontations during the last two years.<\/p>\n<p>But, he continued, \u201cat some point, common sense should prevail\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Seemingly referring to the bar on meetings with incarcerated PTI founder Imran Khan, he added: \u201cIf you keep parents in jail, [\u2026] how can the children sit together with you?
