{"id":14115,"date":"2025-12-13T10:23:49","date_gmt":"2025-12-13T10:23:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/weeklyyoung.pk\/?p=14115"},"modified":"2025-12-13T10:23:49","modified_gmt":"2025-12-13T10:23:49","slug":"gaza-force-deployment-expected-in-early-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/weeklyyoung.pk\/?p=14115","title":{"rendered":"Gaza force deployment expected in early 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u2022 International Stabilisation Force \u2018won\u2019t fight Hamas\u2019; Indonesia says it is preparing to deploy 20,000 troops for health, construction-related tasks<br \/>\n\u2022 Muslim bloc foreign ministers back UNRWA amid talk of \u2018terror designation\u2019<\/p>\n<p>WASHINGTON: International troops could be deployed in the Gaza Strip as early as next month to form a UN-authorised stabilisation force, two US officials told Reuters, but it remains unclear how Hamas will be disarmed.<\/p>\n<p>The officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the International Stabilisation Force (ISF) would not fight Hamas. They said lots of countries had expressed interest in contributing and US officials are currently working out the size of the ISF, composition, housing, training and rules of engagement.<\/p>\n<p>An American two-star general is being considered to lead the ISF but no decisions have been made, the officials said.<\/p>\n<p>Deployment of the force is a key part of the next phase of US President Donald Trump\u2019s Gaza peace plan.
