CAIRO: Egypt said on Monday it is aligned with Saudi Arabia on the conflicts in Yemen and Sudan, as well as the question of breakaway region Somaliland.<\/p>\n
During talks in Cairo, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan stressed their countries\u2019 \u201cidentical\u201d positions on \u201creaching peaceful solutions to the region\u2019s crises\u201d, an Egyptian presidency statement said.<\/p>\n
They said solutions must \u201cpreserve the unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of states,\u201d singling out Sudan, Yemen, Somalia and the Gaza Strip.<\/p>\n
A recent internal conflict in Yemen involves the internationally recognised government and the separatist Southern Transitional Coun\u00ad\u00adcil (STC).<\/p>\n

President Sisi on Monday welcomed Saudi Arabia\u2019s proposal to host an \u201cinclusive conference\u201d for southern Yemeni groups, while Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty called for de-escalation and a Yemeni-led political settlement.<\/p>\n
On Sunday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told the Saudi crown prince in a phone call that his country was ready to help dialogue between Yemen\u2019s factions.<\/p>\n
Erdogan told Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman during the phone call that Turkiye \u201cis ready to contribute to efforts aimed at bringing parties together\u201d, according to his office.<\/p>\n
The STC has welcomed a call for dialogue by Saudi Arabia to end the recent military escalation. The STC said in a statement on Saturday that the Saudi initiative was a \u201cgenuine opportunity for serious dialogue\u201d that could safeguard \u201cthe aspirations of the southern people\u201d.<\/p>\n
Tarek Saleh, a member of the Yem\u00aden Presidential Council, met Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khaled bin Salman and exchanged viewpoints on Yemen.<\/p>\n
They discussed means to bolster joint efforts to support the stability of the country and the region\u2019s security.<\/p>\n
