The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday announced the dates for Australia\u2019s T20I tour of Pakistan later this month ahead of the ICC Men\u2019s T20I World Cup in February.<\/p>\n
All three matches are scheduled to take place at Lahore\u2019s Gaddafi Stadium on January 29, 31 and February 1, PCB said in a statement. The toss will take place at 5:30pm and matches will begin at 6pm.<\/p>\n
Australia\u2019s T20I squad will arrive in Lahore on Jan 28.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe series serves as crucial game time for both the sides ahead of the all-important ICC Men\u2019s T20I World Cup 2026, where Pakistan are placed in Group A and Australia in Group B,\u201d PCB said.<\/p>\n
This is the third time Australia are touring Pakistan; they played a three-match Test and ODI series in March-April 2022, followed by a solitary T20I where they bagged a close three-wicket win at Gaddafi Stadium.<\/p>\n
Australia also played three of their 2025 Champions Trophy matches in Pakistan.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are excited and look forward to hosting Australia for the three-match T20I series here in Lahore,\u201c PCB Chief Operating Officer Sumair Ahmed Syed said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe tour marks a blockbuster beginning of the year for Pakistan Cricket fans and I urge them to turn out in numbers during the series to support both the teams as they put final touches to their T20 World Cup preparations.\u201d<\/p>\n
The COO added: \u201cI\u2019m sure the Gaddafi Stadium has become a familiar sight for Australian Cricket team as they have played a Test, five ODIs and a T20I here since March 2022.\u201d<\/p>\n
