{"id":16049,"date":"2026-02-17T09:08:16","date_gmt":"2026-02-17T09:08:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/weeklyyoung.pk\/?p=16049"},"modified":"2026-02-17T09:08:16","modified_gmt":"2026-02-17T09:08:16","slug":"11-security-personnel-martyred-in-terrorist-attack-on-checkpost-in-bajaur-ispr","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/weeklyyoung.pk\/?p=16049","title":{"rendered":"11 security personnel martyred in terrorist attack on checkpost in Bajaur: ISPR"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A terrorist attack, using an explosive-laden vehicle, on a checkpost in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa\u2019s Bajaur district martyred 11 security personnel, the military\u2019s media wing said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), \u201cOn February 16, a cowardly terrorist attack was attempted on security forces and law enforcement agencies\u2019 joint check Post in Bajaur District by Khwarij belonging to Indian Proxy, Fitna al Khwarij\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Fitna-al-Khawarij is a term that the state uses for the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan.<\/p>\n<p>The statement added that 12 terrorists were eliminated after security forces retaliated and \u201cengaged the fleeing khwarij with precision\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn their desperation, the attackers rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the perimeter wall. Due to the blast impact infrastructure at check post collapsed resultantly eleven brave sons of soil, rendered the ultimate sacrifice and [embracing] martyrdom.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>ISPR elaborated that the blast affected residential buildings in the area as well, \u201cleading to the martyrdom of one innocent young girl\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Another seven people were injured, including women and children, the ISPR said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSanitisation operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian sponsored kharji found in the area as a relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision \u201cAzm e Istehkam\u201d (as approved by Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by security forces and law enforcement agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe sacrifices of our brave soldiers and innocent civilians further reinforce our unwavering commitment to safeguarding our nation at all costs,\u201d the statement concluded.<\/p>\n<p>The development comes days after an additional station house officer was martyred as terrorists attacked a police station in the War Mamund tehsil of Bajaur district.<\/p>\n<p>In December 2025, a major-ranked officer was martyred during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the district.<\/p>\n<p>KP has seen a rise in terrorist attacks in the past year.
