{"id":16802,"date":"2026-03-15T08:54:07","date_gmt":"2026-03-15T08:54:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/weeklyyoung.pk\/?p=16802"},"modified":"2026-03-15T08:54:07","modified_gmt":"2026-03-15T08:54:07","slug":"fo-rejects-indias-absurd-and-unwarranted-statement-on-pakistans-cross-border-actions-in-afghanistan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/weeklyyoung.pk\/?p=16802","title":{"rendered":"FO rejects India\u2019s \u2018absurd and unwarranted\u2019 statement on Pakistan\u2019s cross-border actions in Afghanistan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Foreign Office (FO) on Sunday rejected a statement made by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs criticising Pakistan\u2019s cross-border action in Afghanistan, stating that the statement was \u201cabsurd, unwarranted\u201d and \u201cshamefully hypocritical\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The development comes as Pakistan continues with Operation Ghazab lil-Haq, which was launched in late February following unprovoked firing by the Afghan Taliban from across the border.<\/p>\n<p>A day earlier, the Indian MEA\u2019s spokesperson Shri Randhir Jaisal claimed that Pakistan\u2019s strikes in Afghanistan had led to \u201cdeath of several civilians\u201d, terming it an \u201cact of aggression\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In response, the FO spokesperson Tahir Andrabi rejected the claim, stating that the remarks against Pakistan\u2019s \u201clegitimate, targeted and precise actions against terrorist hideouts and support bases inside Afghanistan are not only absurd and unwarranted but also shamefully hypocritical\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The spokesperson maintained that India\u2019s \u201cactive support and sponsorship\u201d for terrorist groups operating from Afghan soil \u2014 Fitna-al-Khawarij and Fitna-al-Hindustan \u2014 remained \u201cwell-known\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Fitna al Khawarij is a term the state uses for terrorists belonging to the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan, while Fitna al Hindustan is a term designated by the state for terrorist organisations in Balo\u00adchistan.<\/p>\n<p>Under the above circumstances, he held that India\u2019s \u201cfrustration at the destruction of its terrorist franchise in Afghanistan, as reflected in such statements, is quite understandable\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIndia, a serial violator of human rights and international law, continues to illegally occupy Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir in violation of the United Nations Charter and relevant UN Security Council resolutions, and has been responsible for perpetrating state terrorism in the occupied territory,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n<p>Andrabi maintained that under its \u201cHindutva extremist ideology,\u201d India continued to \u201csystematically marginalise its minorities, spread Islamophobia, and has even weaponised water in contravention of its treaty obligations\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIndia has not only played the role of a spoiler in Afghanistan, but also in the entire region,\u201d the FO added.<\/p>\n<p>The statement stressed that India was in \u201cno position\u201d to make statements such as the recent one, given its \u201cshameful credentials\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Andrabi urged the neighbouring country to \u201cinstead focus on refraining from stoking terrorism inside Pakistan from Afghan soil\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor its part, Pakistan remains determined to take all appropriate actions in self-defence and to protect its citizens in accordance with international law, including the UN Charter,\u201d the statement concluded.<\/p>\n<p>On March 10, during a heated debate on Afghanistan at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), Pakistan lambasted India\u2019s criticism of cross-border strikes, accusing Delhi of complicity in the terror threat at the western border.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Foreign Office (FO) on Sunday rejected a statement made by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs criticising Pakistan\u2019s cross-border action in Afghanistan, stating that the statement was \u201cabsurd, unwarranted\u201d and \u201cshamefully hypocritical\u201d.
