Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said on Thursday that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz underwent \u2018major surgery\u2019 at the Sharif Medical City Hospital in Lahore.<\/p>\n
In a post on the social media platform X, Aurangzeb said: \u201cChief Minister Maryam Nawaz underwent major surgery at Sharif Medical City Hospital, after which she has been shifted home.\u201d<\/p>\n
She added that despite being in the hospital, the chief minister monitored security, cleanliness and other administrative matters pertaining to the province on the first day of Eid.<\/p>\n
Responding to Aurangzeb\u2019s post, Information Technology Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja prayed for Maryam\u2019s health and well-being.<\/p>\n
In November 2024, CM Maryam was admitted to the Sharif Medical City Hospital due to health issues. At the time, Aurangzeb said that she had had her thyroid checked.<\/p>\n
Last month, Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari had responded to reports regarding CM Maryam battling cancer, saying this was \u201cabsolutely false news\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cSuch false propaganda with someone\u2019s life is condemnable,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
