Capri, (Italy)\u00a0 –\u00a0 G7 foreign ministers Friday urged \u201call parties\u201d to \u201cwork to prevent further escalation\u201d in the Middle East, following reports that Israel had carried out revenge strikes on Iran.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn light of reports of strikes on April 19th, we urge all parties to work to prevent further escalation. The G7 will continue to work to this end,\u201d the Group of Seven industrialised nations said in a statement.<\/p>\n
The ministers from Italy, the UK, US, France, Germany, Japan and Canada said they \u201cdemand that Iran and its affiliated groups cease their attacks\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will hold the Iranian government accountable for its malicious and destabilising actions,\u201d they said after a meeting in the Italian island of Capri.<\/p>\n
