{"id":5191,"date":"2025-01-29T06:57:47","date_gmt":"2025-01-29T06:57:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/weeklyyoung.pk\/?p=5191"},"modified":"2025-01-29T06:57:47","modified_gmt":"2025-01-29T06:57:47","slug":"uk-officials-begin-pakistans-aviation-audit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/weeklyyoung.pk\/?p=5191","title":{"rendered":"UK officials begin Pakistan\u2019s aviation audit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>RAWALPINDI: A team from the UK\u2019s Department for Transport (DfT) and Civil Aviation Authority has started the audit of Pakistan\u2019s aviation safety standards.<\/p>\n<p>PIA flights to Europe re\u00ad\u00adc\u00ad\u00ad\u00adently resumed after four years, but the ban on fli\u00adghts to the UK was yet to be lifted.<\/p>\n<p>The audit would be another step in efforts to resume operations of Pakistani airlines to the UK, a spokesman for the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) said.<\/p>\n<p>The four-member delegation, which arrived in Pakistan on Monday, is likely to inspect PIA\u2019s compliance with international safety standards, said the spokesman.<\/p>\n<p>Process expected to lead to resumption of flights<\/p>\n<p>The team visited PCAA headquarters in Karachi and began the audit process.<\/p>\n<p>The evaluation came after mont\u00ad\u00adhs of preparatory meetings between Pakistani and British aviation authorities, said the spokesman.<\/p>\n<p>The PCAA is hopeful about the outcome, citing extensive preparations regarding international aviation safety requirements.<\/p>\n<p>The successful completion of the audit would pave the way for Pakistani airlines to resume direct flights to the UK.<\/p>\n<p>The European Aviation Safety Agency (Easa) and the UK\u2019s DfT banned Pakistani flights in 2020 after the then aviation minister claimed that almost 40 per cent of pilots of local airlines have \u201cfake licenses\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RAWALPINDI: A team from the UK\u2019s Department for Transport (DfT) and Civil Aviation Authority has started the audit of Pakistan\u2019s aviation safety standards.
