{"id":5269,"date":"2025-01-31T03:35:44","date_gmt":"2025-01-31T03:35:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/weeklyyoung.pk\/?p=5269"},"modified":"2025-01-31T03:35:44","modified_gmt":"2025-01-31T03:35:44","slug":"mqm-p-accuses-bilawal-of-threatening-karachi-traders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/weeklyyoung.pk\/?p=5269","title":{"rendered":"MQM-P accuses Bilawal of \u2018threatening\u2019 Karachi traders"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) on Thursday accused Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari of threatening Karachi traders.<\/p>\n<p>Demanding the \u201cauthorities\u201d to take notice of the threat, it insisted that the Muttahida had \u201conly endured the biased Sindh government for the sake of democracy in the country\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing a press conference, the top MQM-P leadership sounded angry over the recent address of the PPP chairman to the Karachi businessmen in which he had told them that they should come to him with their grievances instead of going to \u201cother forums\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In the same address at a lunch hosted to the businessmen of the city, Mr Bhutto-Zardari had also defended his party\u2019s performance and reminded them of the situation in Karachi that prevailed before 2008, when the PPP formed the government.<\/p>\n<p>However, the address didn\u2019t go down well with the MQM-P ranks which saw it as an open threat to the traders.<\/p>\n<p>MQM-P chairman Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that for the past 15 years \u201ca so-called artificial majority government\u201d had been running in Sindh under the guise of democracy.<\/p>\n<p>The Muttahida, he said, was the only representative party of urban areas in Sindh which had been consistently protesting the ongoing injustices in the province.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSimilarly, traders and industrialists have also been expressing their concerns,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen the PPP chairman and Sindh chief minister invited traders and industrialists, we were under the misconception that they would apologise for the previous injustices and announce corrective measures. Instead, the language used by the ruling class was nothing less than a threat.
