{"id":6017,"date":"2025-02-26T04:01:39","date_gmt":"2025-02-26T04:01:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/weeklyyoung.pk\/?p=6017"},"modified":"2025-02-26T04:01:39","modified_gmt":"2025-02-26T04:01:39","slug":"kp-govt-officials-told-to-quit-pti-posts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/weeklyyoung.pk\/?p=6017","title":{"rendered":"KP govt officials told to quit PTI posts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: PTI leaders who are holding official positions in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will have to relinquish their party positions in a bid to reorganise the party in the province.<\/p>\n<p>The decision was anno\u00adu\u00adnced by the PTI secretary general, Salman Akram Raja, on Tuesday after meeting the jailed PTI founder Imran Khan.<\/p>\n<p>While talking to reporters outside the Adiala Jail, Mr Raja said the decision has been made to empower PTI\u2019s KP chapter president, Junaid Akbar, to reorganise the party.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, Mr Akbar was made the party\u2019s president in KP in place of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, who had \u201crelinquished\u201d the position.<\/p>\n<p>Replying to a question, he said that Mr Khan clearly stated that he would stand by party leaders and that those expelled from the party had nothing to do with PTI.<\/p>\n<p>This was an apparent reference to Sher Afzal Mar\u00adwat and Fawad Chau\u00addhry, who were sacked from the party.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Raja added that those who were not in contact with the party leadership during the voting on the 26th Constitutional Amendment in parliament would be given a personal hearing.<\/p>\n<p>The PTI leader said he briefed Mr Khan on the party leaders\u2019 recent visit to Sindh.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Khan has vowed to \u201ckeep fighting for the rights of the people of Sindh\u201d, Mr Raja claimed.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Raja added that the PTI founder was being denied his rights in jail and revealed that he would write a letter to the chief justice of Pakistan on Mr Khan\u2019s behalf.<\/p>\n<p>Defeat against India<\/p>\n<p>Although the party claims that the PTI founder does not have the facility of electricity in his cell, Mr Raja said the former prime minister and ex-captain of the cricket team was \u201cvery sad over the defeat\u201d against India in the Champions Trophy.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Khan\u2019s sister, Aleema, said her brother watched the match on PTV and was \u201cseverely disappointed\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Maryam being nurtured\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Separately, PTI Central Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram has criticised the government\u2019s borrowing to manage its expenses.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement on Tuesday, Mr Akram said the government was \u201cwasting public resources\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>He alleged that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif is being \u201cnurtured, trained and groomed\u201d and will be \u201cimposed on the nation\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>This would \u201cfurther drive the country towards political, economic and social instability\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPakistan has already paid a hefty price for such experiments in the past, and the people will not allow any such experiment to succeed now,\u201d Mr Akram claimed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPTI founder Imran Khan has awakened the nation, and conscious people cannot be silenced through intimidation, coercion or oppressive tactics.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: PTI leaders who are holding official positions in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will have to relinquish their party positions in a bid to reorganise the party in the province.
