China said on Tuesday it supports Pakistan in defending \u201cnational sovereignty and territorial integrity\u201d, after a ceasefire ended four days of fighting with India over a deadly attack in occupied Kashmir.<\/p>\n
Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi said China welcomed the two countries \u201chandling differences through dialogue\u201d as he met Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar in Beijing.<\/p>\n
Wang called Pakistan an \u201cironclad friend\u201d and vowed to deepen the \u201call-weather strategic cooperative partnership\u201d between the two countries, a readout from China\u2019s foreign ministry said.<\/p>\n
Likewise, Dar appreciated China for firmly supporting Pakistan\u2019s sovereignty and territorial integrity.<\/p>\n
The Foreign Office said Dar met his Chinese counterpart for in-depth discussions during his visit to discuss regional stability.<\/p>\n
\u201cBoth sides exchanged views on evolving situation in South Asia, future trajectory of Pakistan-China friendship and CPEC (China Pakistan Economic Corridor) 2.0.<\/p>\n
