{"id":9861,"date":"2025-06-07T01:30:41","date_gmt":"2025-06-07T01:30:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/weeklyyoung.pk\/?p=9861"},"modified":"2025-06-07T01:30:41","modified_gmt":"2025-06-07T01:30:41","slug":"pakistan-rejects-modis-baseless-misleading-remarks-on-first-visit-to-held-kashmir-after-pahalgam-attack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/weeklyyoung.pk\/?p=9861","title":{"rendered":"Pakistan rejects Modi\u2019s \u2018baseless, misleading remarks\u2019 on first visit to held Kashmir after Pahalgam attack"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Foreign Office on Friday firmly rejected the \u201cbaseless and misleading remarks\u201d made by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his first visit to the Indian-held Kashmir after the Pahalgam attack.<\/p>\n<p>The indian premier arrived in occupied valley today to open a strategic railway line.<\/p>\n<p>According to Indian news media outlets, Modi, during his visit, said that Pakistan attacked \u2019insaniyat\u2019 and Kashmiriyat\u2019 (humanity and the Kashmiri identity) in Pahalgam.<\/p>\n<p>The Indian premier alleged that Pakistan was \u201calso the enemy of poor\u2019s bread and butter\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>He warned that anyone trying to derail the development in Indian-held Kashmir would have to \u201cface Narendra Modi first\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Responding to the Indian premier\u2019s remarks, the foreign office today said: \u201cPakistan firmly rejects the baseless and misleading remarks made by the prime minister of India regarding the situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It added that such statements represented a \u201cdeliberate attempt to deflect international attention from the grave and persistent human rights violations being committed in a territory under foreign occupation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are deeply dismayed that the Indian prime minister has once again chosen to accuse Pakistan of involvement in the Pahalgam attack, without presenting a single piece of credible evidence,\u201d FO said in its statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJammu and Kashmir remains an internationally recognised disputed territory, the final status of which is to be determined in accordance with the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and the will of the Kashmiri people,\u201d it said, adding that no amount of rhetoric could change the legal and historical reality.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cClaims of development in IOJK ring hollow against the backdrop of an unprecedented military presence, suppression of fundamental freedoms, arbitrary arrests, and a concerted effort to alter the region\u2019s demography in violation of international law, including the Fourth Geneva Convention,\u201d FO said.<\/p>\n<p>FO called upon the international community, including the UN and human rights organisations, to hold India accountable for its oppression and to ensure that the \u201cKashmiri people are allowed to exercise their inalienable right to self-determination, as enshrined in the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPakistan remains steadfast in its principled support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir in their just struggle for their rights and dignity,\u201d FO said.<\/p>\n<p>Modi\u2019s visit follows a recent military confrontation between India and Pakistan over New Delhi\u2019s allegations against Islamabad, without evidence, about a deadly attack in occupied Kashmir\u2019s Pahalgam.<\/p>\n<p>As New Delhi launched air strikes in early May, killing civilians, Pakistan downed five Indian jets in retaliation.
